Compress
Smart image compressor.
Make JPG, PNG and WebP images smaller while keeping them looking clean. Choose a level, compress, compare before and after, then download. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Every file shows its real savings. If an image cannot get smaller without losing quality, you keep the original.

Choosing a level
Which compression level should I use?
Balanced suits most photos, screenshots and graphics. Use Best Quality for images you will edit or print, and Smallest File for quick sharing where file size matters most. Use Compare to check any result at full size.

FAQ
Image compression questions.
How does the Smart Image Compressor decide how much to compress?
It tries several quality levels and measures how closely each result matches your original image (using a structural similarity score). It then keeps the smallest version that stays within the visual-quality limit of your chosen level: Best Quality, Balanced or Smallest File.
Which images can I compress?
JPG (JPEG), PNG and WebP images, up to 20 files per batch, 50 MB per file and 40 megapixels per image. Animated images and HEIC photos are not supported here; use the HEIC converters for iPhone photos.
Is the compression lossless?
JPG and WebP compression is lossy: some image detail is discarded, which the quality check keeps hard to see. For PNG, Best Quality uses lossless optimisation only, so every pixel stays identical. Balanced and Smallest File may reduce PNGs to a limited colour palette, which is lossy, but only when the result still passes the quality check.
How much smaller will my images get?
It depends on the image. Large camera photos and screenshots often shrink a lot, while images that are already optimised may barely change. Each file shows its exact original size, result size and savings.
What happens if an image cannot be made smaller?
You get your original file back unchanged, clearly marked as kept. The tool never replaces an image with a larger file or reports savings that did not happen.
Will my PNG turn into a JPG?
No. Files keep their format and transparency unless you choose a different output format yourself. When WebP would be clearly smaller, the result tells you so, and you can choose WebP under Output format.
Are photo details like location removed?
Yes, for compressed files. Hidden metadata such as camera details and GPS location is not copied into the compressed image. Photo rotation is applied to the pixels first, so images stay upright. Files that are kept unchanged keep their original metadata.
Do my images upload to ImageToolSpace?
No. All compression happens in your browser on your device. Your images are not sent to our servers.
