FAQ

Bulk compression questions.

How many images can I compress at once?

Up to 100 images per batch on a desktop or laptop, and up to 30 on phones and devices with little memory. Images are processed one or two at a time, so even large batches do not overload your browser. You can start a new batch as soon as one finishes.

Can I compress a whole folder?

Yes, in browsers that support folder selection, such as Chrome and Edge on a computer: use Choose folder or drag a folder onto the page. Images inside sub-folders are included, and the ZIP download keeps the same folder structure. On phones, select the images instead.

Which compression setting should I choose?

Balanced suits most photos and screenshots. Maximum compression makes files as small as possible while keeping a quality check, and High quality saves less but keeps more detail. Target size per image makes every image fit a limit such as 200 KB, shrinking its dimensions only when needed.

Will my images change format?

Only if you choose an output format. By default each image keeps its format, and a file is only replaced when it becomes meaningfully smaller. If you choose JPG, transparent areas become white, and the page says so before you start. HEIC photos are saved as JPG because browsers cannot create HEIC files.

Can I resize images while compressing them?

Yes. Choose a maximum long edge, width or height in pixels. Larger images are scaled down with their proportions kept; smaller images are never enlarged.

What happens if some images fail?

The rest of the batch carries on. Failed images are listed with the reason, and you can retry them in one click. Unsupported files are skipped and shown as such. The ZIP only contains images that were compressed successfully.

How are the savings calculated?

From the exact byte sizes of your originals and the results. If converting to another format makes some files larger, the totals show that honestly rather than hiding it.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Every image is compressed in your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers or to any other service.
